Pottstown is located along the Schuylkill River between Philadelphia and Reading, Pennsylvania. The borough once had a substantial industrial base, manufacturing tires, steel, bridges and castings. After several decades of decline as some of these industries failed or relocated in the last half of the 20th century, a revitalization effort has been mounted and there are currently some encouraging signs of turn-around.
The borough is home to the Hill School, a prestigious private college preparatory school, and more recently, the West Campus of Montgomery County Community College which in addition to a new building, has adaptively re-used some industrial spaces very effectively.
Images here cover a number of visits over a period of years. See also a gallery showing the Schuylkill River Festival, an annual fall event.
