Saturday of Labor Day weekend we brought our niece to New York City for a whirlwind day trip. A good bit of the day was spent wandering to/from/in Central Park and enjoying the bustle of myriad activities there. On the way, we managed to at least walk through Times Square and by a few of the landmark buildings - Chrysler, Grand Central, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the Empire State. We had lunch at a deli, and a light, mostly liquid dinner, at the Heartland Brewery at the Empire State building. Ye Olde Photographer recommends the Harvest Wheat Beer and Farmer John's Oatmeal Stout. (But your taste may vary!)
The travel up and back was by auto from home to the Hamilton NJ Transit station, thence train round trip to NY Penn Station (much more relaxed than driving all the way). We could hardly have asked for better weather, sunny and low 80s (Fº). According to a fitness app our niece has on her phone, we walked in excess of ten miles!
