Officially the Michael Friedsam Memorial Carousel, this is one
of the largest merry-go-rounds in the United States, and was
made by Solomon Stein and Harry Goldstein in 1908. Restored in 1990,
it has 57 hand-carved horses – 52 jumpers and 5 standers – and two
chariots. A Ruth & Sohn band organ plays waltzes, marches, and polkas.
