Just prior to putting these together. This was a construction using "leather-hard" slabs.
Bottom and side edges are mitered to 45º. The top edge and cover have "rabbets" to mate
together but stay removable. The designs were incised and burnished to lighten the slabs a bit
and to experiment with yet another technique. The box is a cube about 4.25 inches on a side.
