With NCECA, the 44th National Conference on Education for the Ceramics Arts being held in Philadelphia, efforts came together to have a series of pre-conference workshops and panel discussions under the auspices of the Ceramics Department at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA. The festivities included a visit from the Art-Stream Nomadic Gallery, a converted AirStream trailer featuring work by a number of artists.

After some deliberation, Ye Olde Photographer decided to unravel the strands related to each of the four demonstrating artists and place each in a separate gallery. Activities and scenes more generic to the individual days will be found in the galleries for those days.

Background notes: Ye Olde Photographer has been taking ceramics classes at MCCC since 2005; a retirement hobby to support his bonsai pot habit. While a hobby, his photography has more foundation as it goes back to the late 1950s. The stage lighting was actually set up for a weekend performance of some sort, and definitely not optimized for looking into spinning vessels or doing available light photography. As with most volunteer efforts, YOP soldiered on, and unlike the 1950s, today we can "fix it in Photoshop(tm)."
