The Crazy Horse Memorial was begun in 1948, and probably has another 50 or 60 years to go before completion. Beyond the mountain sculpture, there is a large museum and gift store and there are plans for an American Indian University and Medical Training Center. I could have spent hours taking shots of things in the museum, but we were on a schedule, and I had to wait several minutes between shots of the sculpture, waiting for shafts of sunlight as the clouds went by.
