We flew the inter-island shuttle from Maui to Honolulu, where we learned that our flight back to the mainland was delayed by an hour. All civilian flights were grounded while the Thunderbirds, the Air Force aerobatics team, practiced at the airport for an event that weekend. Although we were inside the terminal, we were able to watch and photograph them through the terminal's large windows. It was an unexpected treat!
