Return to Maui, September 14-18, 2009

[ Maui 2009 Home Page ] Day 1: Phoenix to Maui ]
Day 2: West Maui Loop ]
Panoramic Photos ] Day 3: Hanging Loose ]
Maui Birds ] Day 4: Upcountry Maui ]
USAF Thunderbirds ] Day 5: Maui to Arizona ]

The phrase "Maui no ka oi" means "Maui is the best" in the Hawaiian language. The last time we were on Maui was in 1986, but the island is every bit as beautiful as we remembered. After experiencing Maui for the first time 23 years ago, we vowed to come back, and when we finally did we weren't disappointed. It truly is a magical place.

This photo gallery is divided into several subgalleries, one for each day of our trip as well as panoramas, birds and the USAF Thunderbirds practicing over Honolulu Airport. You can navigate among the various parts using the links on the left side of the page.

The panoramic photos are best viewed in their "original" size. At the bottom of each photo, where "other sizes" is displayed, select "original." Once you've done this, all the other photos in the gallery will be shown in their original (full) size. To see an entire panorama, use the scroll bar at the bottom of the window to pan the image to the right and left.
