Invitation

Amanda Adams Copeland was active in the Democratic party in Texas for many years, and served as personal secretary to Texas governor Price Daniel during his term in office, which ended in January, 1963.

This invitation to a dinner in Austin honoring president John F. Kennedy and vice president Lyndon Johnson on November 22, 1963 was found among her possessions after her death. Obviously the dinner was not held, because president Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas 7 hours before it was scheduled to begin.
