Another iconic part of my life met the wrecking crew today. Growing up in Parma, Ohio you just went to the Parma Theater. I did, as did my wife, my mom and aunts and uncles along with so many other friends and family members for a couple generations it was just the place to go. It was a classic theater in every sense of the word. It was never going to see a renaissance as many had hoped and tried...
Time passed it by 20 years ago and while it closed up for good a few years ago it took you back in time whenever you drove by it seeing the old marquee out front. Taking everyone who wandered by to dates, friends and good times long gone. It's burned into my memory like the smell of fresh buttered popcorn or quotes from my favorite films. Today was it's final curtain call as tomorrow the end occurs; and we all know how that one ends. It'll be nothing more than another vacant lot in my boyhood home.
