Mr. TGIF

I have a million thoughts today running through my mind. Work is, as always a constant in your face endeavor while the rest of my life is being run at a breakneck pace… Ideally, I use my PaD to go take a few moments a day to focus on something humorous, inane or capture those around me as they relate to my day and that moment in time. Today rushed by and as you can see in the hues of orange, fading sunlight that is mottled out I did not see much of it except this tiny slice of the day pictured here.

Mondays for whatever reason seem to be the worst day of the week for me. I have always swore to myself that I'd never fall into the TGIF lifestyle. You know, those folks who only live for the weekend. Gutting out 40 plus hours doing what they do to "survive the week" and get to the weekend.I feel thats my life these days? I am becoming what I despise, Mr. TGIF. Hell NO, I wont let it happen.I refuse! (However,I am looking forward to Friday)

Maybe I am just a bit salty as the kids are back in school and routine is setting in again. I despise routines… Now the pool is closed and days are getting shorter. Bedtimes enforced for children and waking up on a regimented schedule, homework and obligations 6 of 7 nights per week? It sucks. Summer was gone this year in an instant. Come back!

I look at life a little different these days. Yesterdays visit to the farm again instilled into my mind to live life to it's fullest. I'll end my rant knowing that I am not that guy, Mr. TGIF but it sure feels like it every Monday after the weekend is gone. My consolation, I hate football and while everyone's Sunday is ruined because their favorite team failed to meet the odds makers expectations in the big game I was spared the frustration since I am TGI(H)F (Thank God I (Hate) Football). Which leads me to my new conclusion on why I hate Mondays. Everyone sits around work, or the radio shows and TV talking about football and the win or loss of their respective team. 15 more weeks of this. I'd like the Browns to go 0 wins for the year, a perfect season!

Inertia can be a powerful force (OK, absence of force if you know your Newton), commitment can be a powerful bind. Unfortunately those two can get you to TGIF pretty quickly although for me last year even F wasn't the end of the working week. You know what you need to do, you just need to go and do it... except it's never that easy. Hmm, rambling a bit. I need to make sure that I actually DO my photography as well instead of having hundreds of unprocessed shots. (Mind you, it's tagging them that is the real pain in the backside; Bridge could be so much better at that.)
I like the cool crisp-yet-soft flowers in the foreground in contrast to the fading but still intense red of the background sunset.

BTW - I actually enjoy Monday. I look at it as a whole new week... new adventure. Usually turns out to be S.O.S. but you never know...

Pretty flowers and a very nicely composed image!!
Small town Texas is all about High School Football. Our weekly, local newspaper has 10 pages and 6 of them are about H.S. football. It's the religion here.
