Berlin Heights, Ohio

At the far back section of my farmer friends property is an old trolley line that is but all forgotten to most people in this world. It's a swath of land that has been trudged thru by me, and many others who are hunting, scouting tree stands in the fall or otherwise communing with nature. Deep back in the "woods" the distant noise fades and your sense sharpen. Your hearing becomes acutely aware of every cricket, mouse, squirrel and deer. The rustle of trees shivering in the wind and snapping of twigs and branches as you walk the once mighty trolley line that took folks between towns that had ceased running back in the 1920's. Since then it's daily commuters are whitetails and strangers like me. I went out to the farm tonight and I sat and talked with my friend, as usual about everything and nothing at all. The days are growing shorter, literally! I cherish my time sitting on the quarterdeck of his farmstead. He encouraged me to go back on the four wheeler for a ride and to seek out my photo a day and I am grateful as always that I listened to him. I got back there in those woods after whizzing my way down at what seemed light speed at the edge of a soybean field turning golden yellow. Once in the big woods, then onto the old trolley line I killed the engine and let the silence engulf me for awhile.

I can honestly say, yes- " Life is good".

Now, while you were out there on the 4 wheeler you didn't happen to run over a few cicadas whose relatives later vowed revenge, did you? Because that could explain a few things with regard to the PAD for the 11th...
