Plitvice Lakes is Croatia's most visited national park and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The sixteen lakes, the woods and waterfalls attract over half a million visitors every year between April to October.

But Plitvice has a unique charm also during the winter time. I chose to visit this special place in February, the harshest month, with temperatures deep below the freezing point. I hope that the images below will provide the reader with some idea of Plitvice's beauty during the winter months.
