Didn't get anymore painting completed after we went to pick out the dining room paint. I spent the rest of the day helping her get ready for Thanksgiving, cleaning the leaves out of the gutters, removing the bushhog from the tractor and attaching the snow blade (snow blade!!! ugh). Anyway, because I have little confidence in stud finders and I don't like to pound small nails into a wall trying to find a stud, I came up with this "dot" system on the floor. By indicating where each stud is, I can use a level to plumb a line straight up the wall and be very close to each stud in the walls.
