One of the constancies of my work in the barn has been the Great Dane Ashton. If I am outside working, both of the dogs are with me. If I am working in the barn however, the smaller dog Bonnie does not like the noise of the woodshop or the shrill of the drywall dust collecting shop vac. This does not seem to bother Ashton and she won't go to the house unless I go with her. If I am working at the desk, she is lying on the floor just to my immediate left. If I am working/playing on Denver staging, she is lying right behind me, and if I am working in the back on the layout room itself, she is lying on the carpet in front of the door. No one, but no one will get by her without her letting me know that someone is here (just ask Brian the UPS delivery man).
