baseline grid_2a

To further verify the spacing of the cross T's, I dug out some old, soiled ceiling tile that I obtained from the school where Diana teaches. This past summer, the maintenance staff went through each room and replaced any tile that was soiled, water stained, or broken/torn at the edges. My intention for these ceiling tile is to use them as scenery elements using techniques that were espoused on Jim Six's layout listserv. I pulled some full tile out of the bags, cut them to dimensions of the grid and placed them in the ceiling. These will of course be replaced with good tile which are yet to be purchased. The lights present a problem for me. I will have to "wrap" them with edge molding and terminate main runners and cross T's where they meet the light fixture. This is quite doable but what bothers me is that when I placed them in the ceiling, I tried to make each fixture a given distance from the wall. As it turns out, there is about an inch and a half difference in the position of each fixture. This is not noticeable now but will be when there is a grid system to compare the position to. The dilema is do I take the time to reposition each or just work around and live with it. I favor the last option but I know that years down the road, I will look at those out of alignment lights and wish I had taken the time to fix the problem. I am still thinking this one over.
