Red-wing Blackbird

There's a pond only 150' from my home that is ringed with cattails. In the spring there are always several male Red-wings perched high in the tops of trees and singing (if you can all it that). Later, there are nests in the cattails, though I've never located one exactly. This female Red-wing must have captured the grasshopper to bring to a nest. By late August, all of the Red-wings are gone.
