Remove finned exhaust nut. It’s okay to tap the wrench with a rubber mallet to get it started, but once started, the finned nut should turn easily with your fingers.

If slightest resistance encountered after initial loosening, STOP. Working graphite into the threads may help. If not, cut nut off with hack saw or Dremel wheel. Do NOT damage threads on head.
