Thanks, Rich. I did the Bubblicious pic in the challenge. I just used sunlight since I really don't have any lighting equipment. The problem is that the shutter speed was only 1/30s, so the pic came out a bit soft due to motion blur. I've got older ones that are sharper but they exceeded the 6 month limit. I'm going to have to start using a strobe to really freeze the action.
Below is a link to the setup I use. One thing I've been trying to do is get the wire frame horizontal instead of vertical. The movement slows down a lot. The problem is that I haven't had much success lighting it that way. Maybe with a strobe it will do better.
And congrats on third place. I thought you would have placed higher.

Hi Steve, thanks for the kind comments. Yes I did use a strobe, a Canon 550EX(+ diffuser)in manual mode. Interesting patterns develop when the soap film is moving, this can be encouraged by gently blowing the film, etc - the flash is needed to freeze this movement. It takes a little bit of trial and error to get the flash angle right (lens and flash same angle and as near to 90 degrees to soap film as equipment will allow), but then it's just a question of picking the moment. Hope this helps. Regards, Richard.

Wonderful shot. Love all the detail. Did you use a strobe to get such a fast shutter speed?
