Lettuce, if given a chance, will send up a stalk (known as bolting) and then flower. So this photo is a lettuce bolting with flowers.

Interesting bit of trivia, Dale! I like the use of RoT here and the shot itself is quite beautiful.

I've had many a head leaf lettuce "bolt" in my garden, but I don't think I've ever gotten a photograph of the flowers to follow. Cool photo!!! These flowers resemble those on a scented geranium.
