Magnolia Blossom
by Dale R. Palmer

This blossom is beyond its prime but is still beautiful IMHO and is in the shade of the leaves and branches above it. While mostly in diffused light, some of the direct sunlight is coming through to give it nice contrast. Magnolias are one of the most prevalent trees in my area... along with pines and oaks.

What an interesting looking flower... I don't think I'd seen one before.

Beautiful. I love the shadows and light you caught here.

Nice detail and play of light, too.

Very pretty image, Dale. The crop looks good. I like the close crop.

I did a re-crop and replaced the image with the bright white spot. Great idea. Thanks Laura.

That is delightful, Dale. A very nice combination of soft light and colors and good detail. The one drawback I see is the light spot behind the flower just off center that tends to draw my eye. I believe you could even crop from top to just eliminate that and not take away from your fine shot. :)
