Brightly Colored Mushroom in a Drab World

I don't think I've ever seen this mushroom before - and it certainly did brighten up the drab day yesterday.
The best ID I could come up with is possibly a Vermilion Waxcap mushroom.
It may just be Waxcap (without the "vermilion" - so HARD to ID, as there are SO many varieties)
