This view is from the pier. The crane marks the location
of the construction site for the Casino. Originally, we thought
it was going to be a gambling casino and worried about the impact
this would have on the St Simon atmosphere and parking. Turns out,
"The Casino" is a public activities building, and is only being renovated.

According to an article in the Brunswick News, the new facility will have
conference rooms for public meetings and a large porch for watching the ocean.
It will also house the St Simon's Island Library and the Island Players theater group.

Talk about a misleading name for a building. Shew!
