Graves

Kind of morbid but a wonderful way to verify your ancestry. It's so important to take photos of old graves now before they become too faded for future generations to read.

Karen I put my email addy up for you . yes I can help you . was your g/g/parents James Buchaman Compton & Malinda Dye ? or were they Thomas J Compton Almyra Osborn? If you know who please email me soon . I sent some data to this website I knew your mom and Leander too. I went to school with some of Leanders siblings , I am a Compton too. Hello, my name is Karen Coleman Jones and I am the daughter of Pluma Compton. My grandfather is Grover C Compton and they lived on Island Creek for years. My mother had twins, a boy and a girl. The boy was Bob C. Sword and the girl was Betty Sword. She was married to Leander Sword at the time and to make a long story short the girl died when the twins were six months old. She is burried in the Sarah Sword Cemetary on Island Creek and since my mother was very poor she could not afford a headstone and there are several graves that are marked with just a stone and the writing is now faded and my mother has since passed away. Could you tell me if there is anyone that knows where my sister is buried. I would love to get her a small headstone.

In future there will be a website like your..we just click on the photo to view the grave and that's it..Maybe can do a virtual tour inside the coffin..keke
