This is one of my all time favorite wildflowers. It is blooming up on a hill behind my house and also down the road around the corner from my place. The soil is very sandy in this area and it seems to thrive in it. I have also read that it is home to the Karner Blue Butterfly, although I have never been lucky enough to have spotted one.
