This picture certainly isn't the best, but it was hard to catch the vastness of the group. On a recent trip to scout out a couple of eagles nests near my workplace we spotted this group of redpolls. There had to be over a hundred birds. And they did not stay still real long. We figured they would be in the same field we found them for awhile so we went down the road to check on one of the nests. We were only gone around 10 minutes if that and when we went back to the redpolls location we saw them once and then they disappeared. We were baffled as to how we could lose sight of 100 plus birds flying around.
