The front of the Mausoleum of Kheir Bey, some 100 meters south of the Bab al-Maqam. It was commissioned in 1514 by Kheir Bey al-Ashrafi, who was a Mamluk official who went over to the Ottomans, was transferred to Cairo as governor and as a result was never laid to rest here. The façade has two recessed panels and is its best feature.
