The Bab al-Hadid. Seen from the north side. "The present remains are largely Mamluk, but the gate was first constructed under Ghazi. It originally had a counterpart bastion to the north, a typical Arab configuration with two towers protecting a lateral entry through one of the bastions." There is an inscription referring to the last Mamluk ruler (1500-16).
At the other, southern, side.
