The mosaics inside the former caravansary are of decent quality, but the light conditions are awful. I did all the correcting I could, still the pictures suffer from all sorts of false colours, reflections and what not.
This is part of the Socrates Mosaic, 362-363 AD. In the full mosaic Socrates (from the altar of the church) is depicted raising his hand in an almost Christlike gesture. It has been suggested this conforms a strong Neoplatonic tradition in Apamea at the time.
