These pictures are taken at or of the Hijaz railway station, which was built in 1917 to transport pilgrims from Damascus to Mecca. Inside the coloured glass is striking, as is the ceiling. There building is no longer functioning as a station, there is a bookstore and not much else inside. The rails in its back have disappeared. But it is a fine building that is well worth a splendid new life.
