I live in The Netherlands, a fine country, but extremely flat. Though we have some hills where we touch Germany and Belgium, around Amsterdam, my home town, the country is flat, flat. So whenever I’m in a region where they have mountains I get slightly ecstatic. In particular if, as in Bursa, one can make a day-trip to a mountain that deserves its name, preferably with snow on top. Uludağ (Big Mountain) is such a beast. I went up several times, and in different seasons. So I’ve seen the melting snows in spring and early summer, with people barbecuing, but also snow covering everything, with people skiing. I here group those pictures. A particular fondness I had for a waterfall, where I took several pictures, partly to test the effect of different shutter speeds on what flowing water looks like.
