There is a trail starting at the south-eastern edge of the Ak Tepe, going through two valley’s (Rose and Red Valley). I have often walked that route, always starting at a point that seems to be called Sunset Point (popular with people who gather there to see sunsets). Over the years I have seen the number of visitors increase. In 2014 I overtook a group of some 40 Nordic walking French tourists. However, at the end of the valleys many people seem to hop onto some transport, whereas I pushed on, passing Cavusın, and on to Paşa Bağı (which I used to think was named Zelve, but it is a group of peribacalar west of Zelve proper).

Along the route I visited two churches, one the well-known Üzumlü Kilesi (Church with grapes) and one that I do not know the name of, with impressive ceilings and decent frescoes).
