On my first day in town I did not know where to go, and foolishly just walked south and on and on. Gradually I found the finest mountains to my taste were around Ishak Pasha, but I also found that the more mellow hills where I first roamed had a charm of their own. The country was more open, you could plan your route for hundreds of meters in advance (with an occassional gully to stop your progress). IO here group pictures of that area. Some are from miles from town, others much closer.
