Manavgat is a modern city in appearance, though the Wikipedia mentions its conquest by Seljuks in 1220. Apart from some old-style houses I found nothing that seemed to stem from before last century. It is close to Side, and many tourists from the large hotels near that town seem to visit Manavgat. Frequent busses transport them. I climbed a hill and took pictures that show how the town lies on both sides of a river and stretches towards the sea and nearby mountains (that were snow-covered, it was a cold February). The river is crossed by several bridges, one of them pretty modern, one seemingly only housing restaurants and bars.
