Some kind of cereal is grown here, and in the distance you see the first of the many, many house-like constructions that make up Anemurion's city of the dead or necropolis. There are about 350 grave monuments of different sizes from the first till the 4th century. They come in different style, simple barrel vaulted rooms or two-storied houses with ornamentation, and many seem to contain frescoes or mosaics. I had seen some of these at an earlier visit and this time wanted to see more of the public buildings and climb to the castle. As a result you see little of the necropolis, let alone of the mosaics and frescoes.
