The Muradiye mosque's central prayer hall.
On the picture: The southern area of the hall, where the mihrab (prayer niche) is. Prism-shaped triangles connect the octagonal drum bearing the dome with the walls of the square mihrab area.
The mihrab dates from the restoration after the 1855 Bursa earthquake. It is an exuberant example of the ‘Turkish Baroque/Rococo’ style, which was influenced by European Neo-Classicism.
