Bilecik dec 2007 1757.jpg

Near the `tekke` are some more graves in the open air on several levels, from them you get a view of the Orhan mosque.

The mosque, originally built during the 2nd quarter of the 14th century, had to be rebuilt after the destruction of the city by the Greek army in 1922. Its ground plan measures 14 x 14 m; the dome is 16½ m high and some 10 m wide, carried on primitive squinches between deep arches which form the shallow arms of a cross. The twin minarets are a 20th century attempt to relight te lamp of Ottoman glory. The original minaret stands on a rock, some 35 m away from the restored mosque.
