At the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate. The church is dedicated to St. George. A group of visitors attended a service and then had their pictures taken by the priests.
A viewer supplied further information: Today, the main church of the Cathedral of Sait George is distinguished for its treasures. The Patriarchal throne or otherwise said the Bishop throne of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is the dominant feature. Tradition says that this throne dates back to the time of Saint John Chrysostom. The inscription on the cornice around the canapy declares that it was a votive offering from Patriarch Jeremias II in 1577 to the Patriarchal Cathedral of Pammakaristos and that it was built by the Athenian Lavrentios. It is four meter high, built entirely of walnut, with inlaid decorations of ivory, mother of pearl, coloured wood and precious stones.
To the right of the throne there is a smaller throne called parathronion=next to the throne. (Alexandros Karighiotoghlou)
