I add some pictures that I made on a busride from Kahta to Adana. This is close to Adana, the so-called Snake Castle, for which you can see a whole gallery.

I was stationed in Adana from 1974 to 1976 and my friends & I explored this castle more than once. It was fantastic. Wonderful memories.

As for there not being public transport: busses from Adana to Ceyhan (very frequent, every 20 minutes or so) will drop you off at the road to the castle (some 20 minutes of walking away). That's how I did it in March 2008. They will also pick you up from that very spot.
