Let me correct, the park will not be destroyed, only a few trees cornering it will be "replaced" during the tunnel construction taking place in Atatürk Boulevard. There won't be any new streets. It should be obvious that such a street would be needless and useless.

I agree that a place like this ought to be treasured rather than destroyed.

Some bad news unfortunately. I have read in a newspaper recently that the I. Melih Gokcek (governer of Ankara) was planning to tear up this cute park and build some street. Kugulu park (means Swan Park as it is home to swans) is one of the symbols of Ankara. I hope the residents of Ankara will not allow the governer to destroy it.
