In Çanakkale the fortress was under reconstruction. It was built by Mehmet the Conqueror in the mid 15th century and is called Çimenlik Kalesi. In the park is a rebuilt version of the Nusrat, a minelayer. When the allied forces has proclaimed the straits to be mine-free, a day before they were to try and force them, this minelayer picked up loose mines and re-laid them. It cost the allied forces three ships. The Nusrat is to the left, the rest is another dundown over the straits.
