Otogars, the bus stations where one can get a ride to almost anywhere, and on shorter notice than in - for instance - my own Netherlands (and cheap too), have over the last ten years or so been thoroughly overhauled. They used to be old structures in the centre of a city, and it took half an hour or so to get on the highway. Now they are modern structures, often at the periphery of the city. One still has to be careful not to be booked for a bus that will not leave in three hours (other companies sending out busses all the time), but in general things have improved. This is a good example. The best now is probably Ankara, the Istanbul one is large, but already seems a bit cramped.
