Model chariot Archaic period 750-600 BC Terracotta Cyprus
In ancient Cyprus and Greece chariots were essential for transportation and warfare. Terracotta model chariots were left in sanctuaries as votive offerings or put into the graves of the rich as gifts. They were partly and-made and partly produced in molds. The model chariot on display is puled by two horses, with two male figures wearing conical head dresses.
