The entrance hall (when coming from the courtyard to the right on this picture) of the Museum shows part of the first collection formed in 1924 with columns, capitals and sarcophagi found in the vicinity of the Police Department. As it is possible to see from the image, they came mostly from monuments of Late Antiquity, with profusion of Corinthian style capitals filled with delicate ornamental motives.
