One of some pictures I took in 2018, a walk I repeated several times now. One of the best: hardly any people, lots of birds singing (in June).

In The Netherlands, where I live, a hoopoe is a very, very rare bird. In Cappadocia I'd hear them from my Ürgüp hotel room, and on this walk I'd see them repeatedly. On one occassion one flew away from almost under my foot. This is a crop from a tele picture, low quality, but man, was I proud.
