“Tarihini bilmeyen milletler, yok olmaya mahkumdur” are words spoken by Atatürk, the English translation in the hall running as “Nations who are unaware of their history are obliged to die out” in my mind is again poor English. But not being a native speaker I may be wrong. My criticism would be: “who” is reserved for persons, a nation is not a person but it may be argued it is a group of persons. Neither would I use “obliged” but “condemned” or something of that ilk. And: how does a nation die out? Expire, alright. Die out? The mind boggles.
And it is awkwardly close to “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” which, I gather (from the Wikipedia), was written by philosopher George Santayana (1905) Reason in Common Sense, p. 284, volume 1 of The Life of Reason.

A door opens, we see the garden, and history comes marching in.
