On a site with Atatürk quotations I came across a more extensive version of these words, "Öğretmenler; Yeni nesli, Cumhuriyetin fedakâr öğretmen ve eğitimcilerini, sizler yetiştireceksiniz ve yeni nesil, sizin eseriniz olacaktır…( 25.08.1924, Öğretmenler Birliği Kongresi Üyelerine. )"

As is its want Google translate made a mess of it, but its "translation" is vaguely comprehensible, so: "Teachers; The new generation of devoted teachers and educators of the Republic, but you will grow and new generations, you will have your work ... (08/25/1924, Teachers Union Members of Congress.)"

The monument stands outside what I took to be one of the ministries, probably of education. Recent developments make me doubt if Atatürk would be satisfied with current - 2014 - thoughts about education (compulsory studies of the Ottoman language on schools, increased attention to religion as being part of the curriculum)
