Here we are descending and about to repeat a mistake I almost made. There is a small stream of water that I concluded would probably flow into the valley I was seeking. So I followed it. After a while things got murky, and the water entered a tunnel that may be passable, but with tunnels you never know their length, nor how dark they'll get, nor where you make that stupid sidestep slipping into the water. So I returned and walked slightly uphill, but away from the village. Of course there was another (small) trail that takes you to the actual valley. From there on things were easy.
