The vault of a room of the ‘zaviye’ (dervish lodge), which was also situated on the ground floor, as is the mosque. This room lies in the southeast corner of the building. It is decorated with murals, in the same style as those of the mosque (late-Ottoman style, mixing 16th century classic design with 19th century Turkish ‘Baroque’, influenced by European Neo-Classicism).
The window allows us to see the extreme thickness of the walls, which is typical of the Ottoman search for a considerable margin of safety in the 14th and 15th century.
