Gaziantep December 2011 2146.jpg

Setting up a large loom.
The kilim behind the loom has an eclectic design: the border displays multiple ‘Koçboynuzu’ motifs (Ram’s horn, which symbolises male fertility, male power and heroism) peculiar to Anatolian kilims – but the large design of stylised flowers is cultural import from the Balkan, brought in by muslim immigrants from Bulgaria.
